2015
Money was granted to the MIA to help defray the cost of the statue “Eros”.

2016
This year’s grant to the MIA is being applied to a new commission by the Chinese painter Liu Dan inspired by Willem dePoorters 1636 painting “St. Paul and St. Barnabus at Lystra” currently held by the Mia.

2017
This year’s grant to the MIA is being applied to the conservation of Giovanni Battista Nolli’s “New Plan of Rome” based on a proposal and budget submitted by the Mia. The grant was awarded based on the successful ability of the Mia to obtain matching funds to assure the
completion of the project. The conservation is complete and the map is awaiting framing. The projected availability for viewing is February, 2019.

2018
This year’s grant to the MIA was applied to the conservation and framing of the J.M.W. Turner watercolor “Borrowdale, Rosthwaite Bridge and Castle Crag”. The conservation is complete and the painting is currently on view in gallery 306. An additional grant was made to South Dakota
State University toward the completion of the new Performing Arts Center. This grant was matched by a personal contribution and both were matched by another foundation.

2019
This year’s grant to the MIA was applied to the purchase of clamshells, folders and a new storage cabinet for the preservation of rare books and manuscripts.

2020
This year’s grant to the MIA was applied to two projects. First, the conservation of a rare 540-page German antiphonal from 1439. Second, the conservation of the drawing “Seated Angel” by Simeon Solomon.

2021
This year’s grant to the MIA was applied to the conservation of a 1643 view of Florence “Florenzia” by Claes Janzoon Visscher.

2022
This year’s grant to the MIA was applied to the conservation of Dürers “Prodigal Son”, “Saint Jerome in Penitence” and “Prominade.”

2023-24
Due to the lateness of the proposals the 2023 grant to the MIA was deferred to early 2024. The grant was applied to the conservation of Dürers “Hercules”, “The Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand” and a Milanese allegorical plaquette
created 1550-1580.
