The goal of the Foundation is to provide a balance of funding for scholarships in the sciences at selected universities and funding for the purchase of art at selected museums.
The Blackman family has benefited from our education in science and engineering and it is our belief that our quality of life can only be improved by continually adding more scientists and engineers.
Achieving a technical education leaves little time for any formal education in the arts. We believe that art forms a contextual framework for the science – the why to the how. Thus, we are funding of museums that can provide an encyclopedia of thought, innovation and beauty throughout time.
“Art without engineering is dreaming;
Engineering without art is calculating.”
